Internet Marketing Tips – Will February Be Shot to Heck Like January Was?

If you’re reading this article, it’s February and you’re wondering where January went to. I have a question for you. Was your January any good? Did you meet your goals? If not, I have some bad news for you. February might just turn out to be more of the same. No, not because the economy is bad. It’s because YOU didn’t get on the stick and do what you needed to do.

True story. January was turning into a nightmare for me. Most successful marketers won’t admit this. But my traffic, though only down by 10%, was producing 50% less sales. This shouldn’t be, but it was. So I had to do a little digging to find out what was going on. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything conclusive. So I realized I had to roll up my sleeves and get to work. I knew what had to be done and I did it. The end result was that January was saved.

Okay, so what did I do? The same thing that YOU should be doing if you want your marketing efforts to produce the kind of results that you’re looking for. I’m going to share a little of what I did in this article. Hopefully, these tips will help you.

First thing I did was to do a little research based on past efforts, what prospects were most likely looking for. I looked at my products that were selling well and which ones weren’t selling so well. I then came to some conclusions based on those stats.

I then took the best performing products and (duh!) made more of them. I mean think about it. If you have a product line that is doing well and you know you can squeeze more out of it, why not? Why just rest on your laurels? That was my problem. I was content with the sales I was getting from my main products and not expanding on them. Then, when the products that weren’t selling so well STOPPED selling, because of how many they were, my income suffered…greatly.

Complacency is one of the WORST offenders when it comes to failing with your marketing. You become content with what you have, think it will go on forever, and then suddenly you find, for whatever reason, that what was once a gold mine for you is now a black hole.

Fortunately for me, I had enough ideas to recover. But what about YOU? Do you have ideas? Are you acting on them or are they just sitting around as “to do” notes on a napkin? Talk is cheap. Planning is cheap. The only thing that matters is taking those ideas and putting them into action.

I saved my January and plan on making February even better.

But what about you? Are those ideas just dirty napkins collecting dust?

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim
